Timefulness  Coaching.

Change your attention. Change your time. Change your life.

Would you like to reclaim your time, attention, and imagination, in order to reconnect to magic of the ordinary, the extraordinary, and everything in between?

Say hello!

Does this sound familiar?

⏰ You have tried lots of so-called, "time managemet" systems.

📕 You might own an embarrassing amount of planners, calendars, and sticky notes.

🪄 You feel that if you could just find the "right" system, you can magically figure out how to get it all done.

🤪 You could magically get it all done, if you weren't THE MOST DISTRACTED PERSON in the world.

█ Time feels FULL, but not in a way that feels good or generative or comforting. Instead it feels so full that you are never sure where to direct your time and attention.

💡Your imagination and sense of possibility seem hard to access.

🌏 You want more for yourself, and the world but it is hard to find time for that or even know what that "more" might look like.

I see you. I am so glad you are here.

However you found your way here, I'm so glad you did!  On this page you will find information about coaching, my coaching approach and philosophy, what I can help with, and how to contact me.  If you just want to skip ahead and contact me, click the button. Hi, I'm Jeanne

I have spent my entire life, helping people understand and transform their relationship with time and attention.

Early in my career I worked as an archaeologist, museum professional, and as a historic preservation planner helping communities identify, preserve, and protect spaces and places that were important to them. Then I went on to become a college professor.

Later, I moved to Hong Kong and established a business to help people access the transformative magic of applied improvisation, and storytelling. Both are powerful tools to help us change how we experience and make sense of the world.  I did this through training, facilitation, coaching and workshops. I designed and delivered these workshops in North America, Europe, and Asia.

In 2020, I founded the Human Imagination Project to help people discover the world of possibility that opens when you can align your time, attention, and imagination. I call this alignment, timefulness.

What I can help with...

I focus my coaching practice on helping you discover how timefulness can change your life.  A world possibility appears when you align your time, attention, intention, and imagination.

It's not time management, its time re-imaginement.

To help with this, I incorporate elements of applied improvisation, storytelling, mindfulness practices, as well as other creative interventions. I also use coaching modalities including Designing Your Life and Brain-Based Coaching. Here are some things you might want help with:

  • Your time and attention are fragmented.
  • You've tried other productivity programs but were left wondering, what is the point?
  • You want to design and implement better habits, that are actually habits rather than intentions, ideas, or other things that you mean to do, but just don't manage to do.
  • You want to commit incremental acts of bravery, artfully instigate change, deftly navigate transition, or create things that matter.
  • You want to find, tell, and live better stories, for yourself, for the world.
  • You are filled with existential dread and want to figure out what the fuck to do about it in a way that makes you and the world better.
  • You want to connect to the magic of the ordinary, the extraordinary, and everything in-between.
  • You want to have the life you want and want the life you have.
  • You want to rediscover and reconnect to your attention and intention.
  • You want to discover a new possible.
  • You want to reconnect to a felt sense of meaning and purpose.

"Attention, on the other hand, just is life: your experience of being alive consists of nothing other than the sum of everything to which you pay attention.”

----Oliver Burkeman,
Four Thousand Weeks, Time Management for Mortals

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

So asked the poet Mary Oliver in her exquisite poem-The Summer Day. This provocative and poignant question gets to the very essence of what timefulness is about. The question of what we it is we "plan to do" is answered in every moment of our doing, our life, our living. If you need help figuring that out, let's talk.

Coaching Approach and Philosophy

When you work with me, you get a creative, kind, energetic, and compassionate advocate. I will ask compelling questions, really listen to your answers, invite you to discover your best self, and help you bring the change that you want into your life. Those changes can be big, small, or somewhere in-between. It is up to you. As long as you truly commit to making a change---even a tiny one---insight, and transformation will follow.

And speaking of habits...I don't believe in habit-shaming ("successful people never do X") nor do I believe in big blanket solutions ("successful people always do y"). That's all just a bunch of bullshit.

Change can be shy and delicate, and it can be easy to scare it away. Most of us have enough things to feel bad about, so I want to help you find things that you feel good about, to do things that you feel good about, and to help you bring more good into the world. I want to find what works for YOU.

I want you to be able to imagine a new possible.

To help with that I incorporate elements of applied improvisation, storytelling, mindfulness practices, and other creative interventions.

Thus, I also believe that the coaching process should be enjoyable, sure the work can be challenging, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun.

Training and Certification

A friend of mine once remarked that one of my super-powers is the ability to be "find just about anything interesting." That is absolutely true. One of the things that fuels that curiosity is the desire to share information and do so in a way that makes said information relevant to others. This is why I place high value on what some call life-long learning.  One of the ways I demonstrate this value is through investing in continuing education, training, and certification. And yes, I confess I am badge, bauble, and certificate motivated. I am a Designing Your Life Certified Coach and I also have a certificate in Brain-Based Coaching from the Neuroleadership Institute. I am also a certified practitioner of Applied Improvisation through the Applied Improvisation Network.
